Michael Crowe, after living in the USA for few years came back to the Sunshine Coast, Queensland, Australia and noticing the level of service and the way small business was operating here and thought there must be a way to assist the micro and small businesses similar to what was available in the US like Score and Economic Development Organizations.
Visited numerous workshops, training events and chamber of commerce meetings and events and found that mostly they were pushing their own sh%* which would help them but nothing long term for the people and businesses that attended.
An idea starting forming of an organisational business to help educate and support start-up, micro and small business enterprises, including business intenders. To give them a safe forum to receive information for THEIR business.
Proceeded to approach a number of people to assist in this undertaking, some said "No" and some said "Hell No", and some even said "I will help out once all the hard work had been done", (starting to feel a bit like Colonel Sanders)
but in the end there were a few that said "YES". So BISNET was formed. The basis of the business was developed and the IP was in place.
We were starting to work with Mayor Chris Loft from Fraser Coast Council before the Queensland Government decided to sack him and put everything on hold.
About the same time as this happened one of our directors was diagnosed with cancer.
With all this happening it was decided to close the Not For Profit company. Which happened about a month before the cancer took the life of the director.
So as not to lose what we had worked hard for I decided to register BISNET as a business name. But at the same time, it was put on hold while I worked on other parts of my business.
Well what a year 2020 was with it global pandemic and the world shutting down.
Now that everything is starting to go back to a somewhat normal routine BISNET is starting to be more active.
